A pastor catches the vision
In September 2012, we received a call from a pastor in Riverton, Manitoba, inquiring about Finding the Hope (FTH). The potential of the campaign captivated his interest and he shared the vision with his congregation and the Interlake Ministerial in rural Manitoba. Pastor Don Brynteson writes:
“We decided to assume responsibility for proclaiming the Gospel to every creature by joining with EHC and send the literature into every home in our little corner of the world.”
Five churches committed to the campaign, and on November 5th the message of hope was delivered to 746 homes. Two weeks later, a follow-up postcard was sent to each home.
Hearts open to the Gospel
Although the total number of homes reached was not large, the involvement of churches in three communities—Riverton, Matheson Island and Arnes— was significant. Responses to the FTH website and written requests for 7 Days With Jesus began arriving in our office right away.
One gentleman was particularly moved by the message of the Finding the Hope booklet. He wrote us asking to be contacted by a local church. A personal visit was arranged and this gentleman expressed a desire to come to church.
Pastor Brynteson, writes: “Praise the Lord. We rejoice for the people who have responded…and trust there will be more. We appreciate the ministry of EHC.”
