Numerous Campaigns Concluding as Others Begin
A number of Finding the Hope campaigns have concluded.
They include: Georges Brook, NL; 8 communities in rural Saskatchewan; 16 communities surrounding and including Wadena, SK; Star City, SK; Lashburn, SK; Strathmore, AB; St Ann’s & Smithville, ON; Elliot Lake, ON; and Port Dover, ON.
Please pray that people will be responsive to the message of eternal life and hope in Jesus Christ. Also pray that believers in these communities will continue to use this Gospel-sowing initiative as an opportunity to enter into conversations and give a reason for their hope in Christ. Pray that those who come to faith in Christ will receive the encouragement they need to grow in their Christian walk.
Campaigns also took place in two areas of Saskatchewan in October — Langenburg, and a portion of North Battleford, SK.
Extensive preparations will be occurring throughout the fall and into the new year for unique campaigns early in 2012 in Moncton and Kent County NB and two areas in Quebec.
In the next issue, we’ll be giving more news about these significant outreaches. Please prayerfully remember these locations and their leaders. Pray specifically that the soil of those communities would be softened by the Holy Spirit, and that God will give great wisdom to the leadership teams. Lets pray for a tremendous and unusual openness to the Gospel in these areas. These NB and Quebec campaigns will incorporate new resources designed for long-term impact—resources that can benefit communities across Canada.
We are encouraged that church leaders continue to Canada share their comments about Finding the Hope…
“Seven churches partnered together to see the campaign become a reality in Cornwall. One of the highlights was a Saturday morning when 200 people from all the churches gathered in one location to pray and then distribute the pre-campaign door hangers. The atmosphere was electric when we closed in prayer to head for the streets. In just under four hours, door hangers were placed on every door in Cornwall, letting them know a message of Hope was on its way!”
“Finding the Hope has launched something in our local churches and ministerial [association] that is continuing even after the campaign. After almost three months since the campaign ended, our local ministerial group is strategizing how we can continue to go into the fields of our community to continue reaping the harvest. Our church now has an evangelism strategy in place—something we didn’t even consider before Finding the Hope. We now give an invitation for salvation at every Sunday gathering and have seen many make decisions to become Christ followers. Our church has directly benefited from the vision and ministry of Finding the Hope…Finding the Hope is just the beginning!”
“My youngest daughter saw one of her classmates in church on Easter Sunday for the first time. It turns out her parents got the mailing and read it. Then they got the door hanger invitation to our church and felt led to respond to it and come to the service. We had a number of visitors that day. I’m not sure how many came as a result of the door hangers but we are sure about that one family.”
“The whole process helped our congregation pray together like we had not before…and has helped us look outside ourselves! Our Finding the Hope Sunday challenged us all to think and care more about those we were mailing to.”
