Winter-Spring 2010 Update
Without extensive advertising or fanfare, churches and communities across Canada are hearing about the exciting Finding the Hope campaign. Many have either launched a campaign or are in the planning process.
Since the beginning of this year, 72 communities involving 48 different churches have worked together to reach 13 geographic areas! This translates into nearly 58,000 homes that have received a copy of the Finding the Hope booklet, containing the precious message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ!
From January to May, the following campaigns have been completed:
- Ontario, St. Charles, Lindsay and a portion of Scarborough.
- New Brunswick, Miramichi, Grand Manan.
- Quebec, Greenfield Park.
- Saskatchewan, Smeaton and 14 communities in Northern Saskatchewan, .
- Newfoundland, Corner Brook, Deer Lake, Pasadena and 41 communities in the Northern Peninsula.
A number of leaders from participating churches are sharing with us how this campaign is affecting their their congregations and their communities.
A Salvation Army pastor writes:
“Every Home for Christ and Mission 33 has provided us with an opportunity to have a lasting impact on our community! It has impacted the life of our church as well!”
One pastor of a recently successful campaign in Scarborough wrote:
“A lady who lives in the apartment building behind the church took a copy of the Finding the Hope booklet on Finding the Hope Sunday and has been really encouraged by it.”
A pastor from Quebec writes:
“We are delighted with the people God has sent our way.”
A school teacher wrote about how God is moving in his local church since the campaign:
“We had six converts out to the meeting last week. Something is happening here. It’s very exciting!”
Another pastor from a recent campaign in Western Newfoundland wrote about the spirit of unity and Great Commission focus that Mission 33 has fostered amongst the churches:
“We feel that God has brought us together not just for one outreach event but for many other possibilities. We will now be seeking God’s face on what possible things he would like for us to be involved with. I’m excited about that.”
These and many others are declaring that God’s message of new life in Christ is truly impacting both communities and congregations!
Keep praying that this Good News will spread to many more communities so that every home in Canada can know who Jesus is and how to experience His transforming life!
