FINDING THE HOPE UPDATE
Woodstock, ON
It is possible that history was made in Woodstock, Ontario on March 4th!
In the space of one week, some 18,000 homes received the gospel booklet, Finding the Hope.
Ludwing Perez Melendez, local coordinator for the campaign tells us, “The Finding the Hope campaign raises the awareness of God in the city, therefore leading people to hope in Christ.”
This outreach was the collaborative effort of 5 different churches. It began as a dream in the heart of Harold Collins, a local minister, who has been a long-time partner with EHC. Several churches were introduced to the vision at a meeting in June 2012, and less than a year later, the dream of this man finally came to fruition!
The campaign spared no efforts to get people’s attention. Participants distributed door hangers, sent out a Finding the Hope postcards, used banners, a community Facebook page and radio ads. Three citywide concerts of prayer were held at different locations and gathered Christians to pray for the people who received the message of hope in Christ.
“Reaching an entire city at once with the help of the Body of Christ in every church”, says Melendez, “is a tremendous opportunity to reach and impact every home, developing an atmosphere of the awareness of God, and preparing the ground for outreach. I believe it is good to do this at least once a year.”
Please pray that many hearts will be open to the Lord Jesus Christ in Woodstock!
